Daya Betty is a head-turning drag artist that proudly got her start in the gritty dive bar scene of Springfield, Missouri. With her underground punk style, you can spot her from a mile away as she credits her bold aesthetic to her love of working with unconventional finds and recycled materials.  “To me, drag has never been about glamour and perfection”, Daya exclaims, ”The blood, the sweat, the tears; the ability to create something from nothing - THAT is what the artistry is about to me.”

As important as visual aesthetics is to her persona, Daya Betty really finds catharsis in the craft of storytelling. With a musical theater background, Daya shares that performance is the most intimate and exciting part of her career.

“As cliché as it might be," Daya states, "I love the power to connect a room full of strangers through song and dance - there is no sweeter reward."

Whether she is stomping to the club in her 10' platforms or making her world debut on Ru Paul‘s Drag Race Season 14, there is always one thing you can count on from Daya Betty - and that’s to expect the unexpected.
